our Mission
The mission of UrbanPromise Los Angeles is to provide the children and youth of Los Angeles with the holistic support they need to become Christian leaders determined to restore their communities.
We are aiming to empower youth in low-income neighborhoods in Los Angeles to become the next generation of leaders that ultimately restore their own communities. We do this by training and equipping local teens to serve as the role models & leaders of kids in their community at our seasonal programs and camps.
Our programs:
Summer Camp
Our 6-week camp accelerates learning in Reading, Writing, & STEM while focusing on FUN in Bible, sports leagues, and enrichment classes. Plus, weekly Field Trip Fridays! 🎉
After-School
AfterSchool offers weekly homework help, Bible classes, arts & crafts, and recreational activities to Canoga Park students in grades K-7, led by our high school StreetLeaders!
UPLA's StreetLeader program trains local teens to lead while providing the academic, spiritual, emotional and college support they need to become the leaders of their community!

Alumni Support
The Alumni Support Program offers support to our first-generation college students focusing on target areas - finances, emotional & mental health, career planning, and spiritual formation.

At the Annual UPI Summit, all 35 UrbanPromise affiliate sites gather as a global community to fellowship, learn, and share best practices with each other. UPLA provides opportunities to StreetLeader Alumni to attend the 3 day conference on the East coast each year!
